港大人文學院譴責警方使用暴力　稱為學生和平示威感到光榮

【學苑專訊】香港大學人文學院系主任Timothy O’Leary昨日（二十九日）發文，支持學生和平示威。文中，人文學院譴責警方使用暴力對待和平示威，又提及學院為學生及老師的和平示威感感到光榮。文末，Timothy O’Leary又表示，人文學院將以最寬鬆的手法去處理課堂出席率、功課評估等相關問題。

Dear Colleagues & Students,

The School of Humanities deplores the use of violence in response to peaceful political demonstrations.

The School is proud of its students and teachers who are currently participating in peaceful demonstrations on the streets of Hong Kong. Members of the School continue to offer moral and practical support to those involved.

In the coming week, teachers will endeavour to follow the University policy of
‘business as usual’, while recognising that in fact it may be impossible to maintain this, for students and teachers alike. Therefore, the School will exercise maximum
flexibility with regard to class attendance, assessment, etc.
